Hello LJ [29 Sep 2007|03:05am]
[ mood | Blank ]

Well we've had around 1200 plays in the past 72 hours I believe. I like that feeling a lot. We've had 300 people add us as well. I really love that. I hope to have a few more days like this.

On our purevolume and myspace, we've released DEMO versions of Avalanche Ranch, Questions and Devil with diamond eyes (acoustic) and Lights & Clockwork and I'm no mirror. Go check those songs out!

Me and Jimmy have actually finished a structure to a song entitled "Late Attempts At Failing". It's a different style for us. I think with the new songs, I'd rather record them before play them live. I'm really into this studio stuff. I just need to convince the other guys.

New shows, weekend tours and more coming soon! Please go play those new songs!

Thanks a lot guys and girls! It's helping us tremendously!

There's only so many chances that you get to do something that's this important. [22 Aug 2007|04:01pm]
Alright everyone, we know we've asked a lot of you all recently and we're very greatful for every bit of help and support we've gotten from you.

You guys have been the number one reason we continue to play music since we've started.

I can't got too far into details about what is so exciting and what exactly is going on, but it is something that we've been working for and dreaming about since we started this band 3 years ago.

We are playing with Punchline (myspace.com/punchline) on Saturday September 15th 2007. The show is at Simon's in Allen Park. Doors are at 4:30pm for this all ages show. We will be filming a live video of this entire set.

We will be posting a blog in the next couple of days explaining what we need help with. We need this to be the biggest show we've ever played.

March 30th 2007! [06 Mar 2007|08:11pm]
This is the first time we've actually played our hometown of Taylor, MI. This is the first time we also get to support our High School when they need it. It's Call The Captain's first show. Call The Captain is made up of Tom Smith, Paul Smith and Scott of Eidolon and The Syren. Also Dalton Sollars from High Stakes.

Also our tour dates have changed slightly (as I'm sure they will a few more times down the road).

FROM THE GROUND UP!! IT'S ALMOST HERE!!! [06 Nov 2006|10:45pm]
[ mood | lonely ]

6 days until we officially release our EP. 4 days until we upload 2 brand new songs to our myspace player. Click the flyer below for more information about the EP and our Release Party at Gleason's.

We should be launching our merch store in a couple weeks, so keep checking back for that. Also, we're working with getting our EP on smartpunk.com for all you kids out of state waiting to get your hands on it.

We're also getting ready to start planning a 1-2 week tour in February/March. We'll be posting more information on that soon.

Thank you for all the support. Being in a band trying to make it, is one of the hardest things to do.. But with friends like you, it makes it worth it.

CD NEWS! [12 Sep 2006|08:45pm]
[ mood | ecstatic ]

Well it's been about 7 months since we said goodbye to John at Nada Studios and proudly headed home with our new EP in tow. We've had two dates that we were supposed to release it on, and missed them both. They were both completely out of our control due to lack of funds and a missed deadline by the design company.

Well, good things come to those who wait. We have decided on the name and the final art work for the cd. We'll have the artwork posted ASAP. We decided to call the EP "From The Ground Up". We feel the title fits this cd and our debut release very well.

That's about all for now! Keep spreading the word about us by posting our banners featured on our myspace everywhere you can! We'll be back soon with updates on new shows and other awesome stuff!

Wow.. [25 Mar 2006|04:52am]
[ mood | excited ]

So, I guess it's pretty official. Over the past 12 hours we have been preparing for the change over of Phineas to Built For Burning. It's pretty weird. For the past 20 months, I've been "Mike from Phineas".. It's all for the better. Here's a quick Q&A

Why did you change your name?
1. Nobody knew how to say it.
2. Nobody knew how to spell it.
3. Nobody knew what it meant.
4. It was a bland name. It lacked substance to what we were doing.
5. The new name is more mature. We want to go as far as possible. We want our name to be able to reflect that.

Why now?
1. We figured now is the best time to change the name.
2. We wanted to change it before the EP comes out (late May/early June).
3. We wanted to change it, as we were getting a new drummer (who we will announce soon).
4. We're trying for the Battle Of The Bands 10 stage at Warped tour this summer. If we didn't change the name now, it means the cd and new merch would be held back. Then holding off our tour plans. Now feels like the best time.

What about the merch I bought?
Wear your Phineas T-shirt to any of our shows and you will get a new shirt for half off. Maybe even more off if you bitch at us. Haha. But seriously, we never had intentions of doing this until we got back from New York and started thinking a lot about how serious we want to be.

This being the first post is pretty exciting, this feels more intimate than myspace blogs (and easier to use from a sidekick ;-)). So please feel free to add it and comment it. Also while we tour, look forward to posts from the band members and our friends on the road with us.

So as I end this post, be sure to go here..

Play each song, all the way through (until the yellow bar disappears). Do this once a day. Encourage your friends to do it too. This will help us out so much. Plus you get two brand new songs, so how about that?

See you in Downriver, on the road or at The Modern Exchange!

- Mike
